Shimla : Heavy rains have been lashing Himachal Pradesh since early Friday as the monsoon has become vigorous across the hill state.
Normal life was affected in the state capital Shimla where it is raining since the wee hours.
School children and office goers had a difficult time in the heavy rain.Fog reduced visibility.Traffic snarls were reported at many places in the hill station.
Traffic was plying normally on the Kalka-Shimla and Shimla-Narkanda highways even though heavy fog has reduced the visibility.
The weatherman has forecast more heavy rains during the next 48 hours particularly in Shimla, Solan,Sirmaur,Mandi,Kangra and Chamba districts.
The monsoon has been sluggish is many parts of the state in July after it set in early on June 23.
