Dalai Lama reaches out to Norway

Tibetan spirtual leader the Dalai Lama has expressed shock and sadness over the shooting incident in Norway and the bomb blast in Oslo.

The nobel peace prize winner conveyed his condolences in a letter to the Nowegian prime minister Jens Stoltenberg.

The Dalai Lama expressed his sense of solidarity with the Norwegian people with whom he said Tibetans share a special and close connection.

At least 85 people died when a gunman went on a shooting spree on Utoya island barely hours after the Oslo bomb blast which killed seven.

Police continue to search for the missing Sunday as Norway mourns the victims.

Chances are the four missing people were trying to escape from the hail of bullets.

Andres Behring Breivik,32, has called his actions as ‘gruesome but necessary’, his lawyer was quoted as saying.

The alleged killer said he would explain the purpose of the killings on Monday in court.
