Shimla: With the arrival of south-west monsoon in most parts of Himachal Pradesh, the meteorological station here has forecast rain and thunderstorms over the next four days.
Meteorological station director Manmohan Singh said, “southwest monsoon has advanced into most parts of Himachal Pradesh which includes districts of Sirmaur, Shimla, Kinnaur, L & Spiti, Kullu, Mandi and part of Chamba.
In addition it has also advanced to the some more parts of Arabian Sea, Gujarat State, East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir.
The northern limit of monsoon passes through 22.0°N/60.0°E, Porbandar, Ahmadabad, Udaipur, Ajmer, Jaipur, Dholpur, Shahjahanpur, Dehradun, Shimla and Jammu, he said.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon over Himachal Pradesh and some more parts of west Uttar Pradesh and remaining parts of Uttarakhand in the next 3 days.
Putting out a forecast, he said that rain and thundershowers were likely to occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh over the next four days.
