Shimla: Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal along with his cabinet colleagues today inaugurated a new bridge at Harsi Pattan that has helped to connect three districts across the Beas River.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Dhumal let it be known that a bridge that was estimated at Rs 7.81 crore in 2002 could only be completed after spending Rs 17.69 crore because the congress government in the intervening period of 2003-08 starved the project of funds.
The 214 meter bridge over the Beas would provide all weather connectivity to a population of about 50,000 people spread over 23 panchayats of Kangra, Mandi and Hamirpur districts.

This whole area suffered for decades thanks to cheap politics. Villages around this complete belt gave some brave soldiers to India but politicians never let this area grow thanks to infighting within political parties.
A new era of growth would embark upon this complete belt now, thanks to this bridge!
It was really a necessity nd now people can relax. No doubt it took many many years but now it is there . Congrats.
