Shimla: Three persons died, including a young woman, in a Himachal roadways (HRTC) bus accident in Shimla district and another 10 were injured, some of them grievously, after the vehicle lost control and rolled out of the road and tumbled int the valley.
A police spokesman said that Prem Chand (43) died on the accident spot near Himari, an old man Mani Ram (75) and a young lady Suman Chauhan (23) succumbed to their injuires in hospital.
The HRTC bus was on its way from Devgarh to Kotkhai when it lost control at about 2.25 p.m. and rolled about 150 feet downhill before coming to a halt.
In all there were 13 passengers in the vehicle when the accident occurred.
Whereas 4 of the injured were being treated at Kotkhai community hospital, the other 6 with grievous injuries had been referred to IGMC hospital in Shimla.
Preliminary reports indicate driving negligence as the cause of the accident, the police spokesman said.
