A man arrested by the Himachal Pradesh police in connection with a local temple theft has been found hanging dead in the jail premises of Jogindernagar in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.
According to police, Kishori Lal(40) was allegedly found stealing jewellery and other valuables of the Kali temple in Jogindernagar on Sunday night.A manhunt was launched and he was arrested a few hours later and locked up in the local police station.
On Monday morning however Kishori Lal was found hanging in the toilet.He had used his shirt for hanging himself from the ceiling.
Even though the police say it is a case of suicide,the dead man’s wife Meena claims her husband is innocent and has asked for a probe to be launched into the entire episode.
