Shimla: State Civil Supplies Corp has recorded a turnover of Rs 43.74 crore from the medicine retail business that it operates in the state.
Minister for food and civil supplies Ramesh Dhawala disclosed that compared to a turnover of Rs 37.66 crore in 2009-10, the corporation had recorded a turnover of Rs 43.74 crore in 2010-11.
In all the state corporation was operating 33 retail drug stores and there were plans to open another one at Jubbal, soon, he added.
Medicines at nominal rates were being provided at these drug stores round the clock.
Medicines at these outlets were being made available at 7% rebate, IV fluids at 10% and surgical items were being discounted upto 50% for the benefit of patients, said Dhawala.
