Shimla: Three persons were killed on the spot, which included two women and another two sustained injuries in a car accident that took place in the early hours on Sunday near Theog on the Shimla-Rampur highway.
Police spokesman at Theog, Yusuf Ali disclosed that Kehar Singh (32), a resident of Bani village in Nankhari tehsil, Bela Devi (52) and Sandepna (24), residents of Madhavini village in Kumarsain died on the spot.
The vehicle (HP-06A- 2090) was coming from Narkanda and was going Solan, when the accident took place at about 4.30 a.m. the police spokesman said.
Deepa and Aman, wife and child of Kehar Singh were injured in the fatal accident. After being rescued, the two have been shifted to IGMC hospital at Shimla where they are being treated, he said.
An error in driving or the driver having fallen sleep is not being ruled out as the cause of accident. A case has been registered in the matter.
