Shimla: With incidents of party indiscipline in BJP spilling into the public domain increasing, national party vice-president and incharge for Himachal, Kalraj Mishra said that serious note had been taken of public outbursts by MP Rajhan Sushant and MLA Hari Naryan Saini.
Despite repeated questions, Mishra refrained from revealing what action the party intended to take against such indiscipline where elected party members had either threatened or even had actively participated in protests against their own government. He was interacting with the media before holding a party functionary meet.
“No one in the party is allowed to air differences publicly,” he said when references were made about Sushant and Saini recent outbursts against chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.
With the party facing elections by December, 2012, he said that the party was assessing the performance of ministers and would let the chief minister know about it.
He said that the UPA government was discrimination against Himachal and Uttrakhand state governments because they were ruled by BJP. The party intended to hold Mahasangram rallies in April-June, which would focus on the multiple scams surfacing in central government and the discrimination being meted out to Himachal.
He pointed out that the railway ministry for all practical purposes had kept Himachal outside the national map and no funds for even the strategically important Leh railway line had been marked in the railway budget
Recommendations of 13th Finance Commission were too meager to meet committed liabilities, the states demand for Rs 2500 crore special assistance had been turned down and an industrial packaged granted by the earlier NDA government for a ten year period had been cut short, he added.
Praising the state budget presented by Dhumal, he mentioned that by bringing another 25 thousand people under the social security pension, starting of the Atal Swasthaya Yojna (Free ambulance service) and adopting two SC/ST dominated villages in each block under the new ‘Adarash village’ program were commendable initiatives.
Speaking about the cricket diplomacy at Mohali, he said it was a deliberate attempt to divert attention from the mounting corruption issues related to 2G & ISRO spectrum scam, the Adarsh Society case, Common Wealth Games and others.
The government was not serious about unearthing black money even after strictures passed by the Supreme Court in the case and having asked for constituting of a special investigation unit as well as sought safety protection for investigators and witnesses, said Mishra.
