Shimla: For effective planning, implementation and monitoring of border area development program (BADP), has reconstituted the state level screening committee and appointed the chief secretary as the chairperson of the committee.
The committee would approve schemes to be implemented under Border Area Development Programme and would retain freedom in getting the schemes executed through either the state government, the central government, central para military organizations located in the state or voluntary agencies, stated an government spokesman
The screening committee would meet at least once in a year, preferably in February or March to finalize the schemes for the year, he added.
Others members on the committee are representatives from central governments home affairs ministry, department of border management, planning commission, secretaries from finance, rural development, PWD, IPH, power, DIG of ITBP, deputy commissioner Kinnaur and ADC of Spiti at Kaza. Principal Secretary tribal development would be member secretary of the screening committee that would be based in Shimla.
