PALAMPUR: Though over two years are still left for the next assembly elections in the state, ruling BJP party has geared up its machinery to get all on going development projects in this largest district completed on time. Besides, ministers and MLA have been asked to oversee execution and construction of all sanctioned projects for which funds stood allocated and were lying in the different departments.
After the victory of JDU-BJP in Bihar, Prem Kumar Dhumal government has changed his strategy and more focus was being laid on development projects. In past few days half dozen ministers visited Palampur region and laid foundation stones, inaugurated new projects.
PWD Minister Thakur Gulab Singh visited Palampur and Sulaha this week and inaugurated half one dozen new roads. Likewise Education Minister I D Dhiman also inaugurated half dozen school buildings. Jai Ram Thakur also visited Palampur and addressed panchyat pardhans of the region and apprised them with the policies of the BJP government. Ravinder Thakur IPH Minister also announced number of new development projects for the area.
The Chief Minister has personally asked all the Deputy Commissioners in the state to utilize earmarked funds for the development works in proper manner and under time bound plan. He had asked that no funds should be surrendered because of official bottlenecks or lacks on the part of officials to take up the works in time. In such cases stringent action would be initiated against the erring officials. Chief Minister also held Video conferencing with the all the Deputy Commissioners yesterday in this regard.
Meanwhile a senior BJP leader said that before assembly elections due in 2012 end BJP needed lot of spade work in the filed and had to muster support and faith from the public. He said sale of land to outsiders in the state, vendetta against the politicians should immediately be stopped, otherwise congress leaders would turne hero in public.
Besides, BJP government had also announced to gear up its campaign against the corruption. After the orders of HP High Court Director General Police had submitted a list of officers with doubtful integrity before the HP High Court, later this list was made open to the public and published in the news papers.
Earlier vigilance bureau had withdrawn this list from its officials website. It is also learnt that all corrupt officers would be be withdrawn from all the key postings in next few days. Honest and hardworking officers were likely to get key assignments inside and out side the state secretariat. A team of officials had been deputed to select hard working, competent and honest officers.
