Shimla: With the Himachal High Court having dismissed union steel minister Virbhadra Singh writ petition for transfer of investigation into the corruption case made out on the basis of an audio CD, State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau today file a challan charge sheet in the matter before the trial court.
Confirming filing of the charge sheet IG Vigilance KC Sadyal said that corruption charges under Section 8, 9, 10 & 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 have been made out. Other than that, Section 120 (b) of Indian Penal Code has also been evoked in the matter.
In there were four accused in the case, which included former bureaucrat Mohinder Lal, former officer on special duty (OSD) to chief minister (CM) KN Sharma, former CM Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh.
With Mohinder Lal and KN Sharma having died during the pendency of the investigation, only Virbhadra Singh and Pratibha Singh have been named as accused in the corruption case.
“The court has listed 4th October as the next date for hearing the case,†said Sadyal.
