Shimla: Police busted a gang of Nepalese chara’s peddlers, said to have been living in a secluded mountainous region of Deha under Theog police station in Shimla district (100 Km for here), with the raiding party recovering 3.7 Kgs of Charas and arresting four persons, which included three women.
Heading the investigation, police officer Badri Singh said that the raid was conducted on the basis of a tip-off.
In all four persons have been arrested, he said, which include Gabansari alias Ganga Devi (38), who was nabbed with 1.8 Kgs of charas, Ram Singh (45) with 520 gms on him, Raj Kumari alias Jaisrai (32) and Ram Kali (60) each with 700 gms charas on them were caught red handed, said the policeman. The arrested persons are Nepalese, he added.
Ram Kali was also found to be in possession with explosive Gelatin sticks and illegally stacking locally brewed as well as Indian made foreign liquor bottles.
Whereas section 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotic Substances (NDPS) Act has been evoked on all four of them, Ram Kali has also been booked under excise and the explosive substance act, the police said.
