Shimla: Eighty donors came forward to donate blood for meeting the emergency needs of Deen Dayal Hospital blood bank today at an emergency camp organized by a local NGO.
“It was only on Friday, we informed about shortage of blood at the district hospital, said Ajay Shrivastva, president of Umang Foundation.
A large number of women and girls were among the donors camp that was organized at short notice today at The Ridge, he added.
Rural development minister Jai Ram Thakur, who inaugurated the camp said the organization was doing a commendable job in meeting the blood needs of patients in emergency situations.
