Shimla: Indian Nursing Council has approved and college of nursing at Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla and 60 students would be admitted for the 2010-11 batch, Rajiv Bindal, minister for health stated here today.
He said that it would be the state’s first nursing college in the government sector, the admission for which would be made on the bases of an entrance test to be held in October.
The government had notified starting of a nursing college in March that would offer B.Sc., Post Basic, M.Sc. and Ph.D. Nursing courses.
Inspection of the facilities and infrastructure available was conducted by a team from the Indian Nursing Council and subsequently approval to start the college has been obtained, he said.
