Shimla: To overall its administrative structure, Himachal Pradesh University is looking for e-governance solutions that could be applied to examination system, managing finances and for student support systems.
‘A day long workshop on ‘E-governance solutions for universities’ was organized in the campus today,’ said HPU spokesman Ranvir Verma.
The objective of the workshop was create awareness and look for possible solutions by applying information technology for streamlining administration, improving the examination system and create a platform that students interface with the university authorities, he added.
Presentations about improvements that could be brought about through e-governance were made by ITI Ltd, an organization that works directly under the ministry of information technology and communications.
Other than administrative officials, the workshop was attended by heads of departments and deans to for understanding the working and e-governance architecture for helping universities use latest technologies.
Shash Kant Sharma, registrar HPU on the occasion stressed upon the need for having such interactions to enhance the usage of information technology for better functioning of the university.
