Shimla: Three workers employed with a construction contractor died on the spot, one died in hospital and 18 others were injured, 4 of them seriously, when the truck in which they were travelling in lost control on Shimla bye-pass road and rolled downhill into the valley on Wednesday night.
The three who were killed on the spot were all women who have been identified as Rajmani and Anita from Jharkhand and Dil Kumari, a Nepali citizen. Rajinder Kumar also a resident of Jharkhand succumbed to his injuries at IGMC hospital.
Among the injured are 15 women and children who were rescued and rushed to hospital for treatment. Those injured are mainly workers who belong to Jharkhand or Nepal. Bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives after a post-mortem, said a police spokesman.
