Shimla: The annual credit plan for Shimla district with an outlay of Rs 1034 crore, prepared by UCO bank as the lead banker and to be implemented by all banks in the district was launched by JS Rana, the district magistrate today.
Rana disclosed that the 2010-11 plan of Shimla district included a Rs 189 loan that is to be disbursed by various banks operating in the district for production, marketing and storage facilities of crops
Another Rs 12.34 crore would be spent for creating irrigation facilities, Rs 12.34 crore for farm mechanization, Rs 51.71 crore on horticulture and Rs35.29 crore for dairy , poultry fishery and rearing of sheep, goats and pigs.
Besides this and an amount of Rs 651 crore would be disbursed by banks for setting up of small and medium industrial units, construction of housing and education sectors during current fiscal year, whereas an amount of Rs 57.41 crore would be used to create self employment avenues or startup entrepreneurships.
Rana said that Annual Credit Plan would generate employment and improve economic conditions especially of those living below poverty line.
Earlier SK Sharma, lead development manager detailed out the financial targets fixed for different sectors and stressed upon bankers to form at least two farmers club at the rural branch level.
Among others representatives of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), National Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (NABARD) and other bank branch managers were also present on occasion.
