Shimla: Eleven persons including two children and two women were feared killed and five others seriously injured after a maxi-cab (HP -01A-3631) lost control and rolled down into a steep sided valley at Majoti Nallah, near Summerkot in Rohru.
“A police is out conducting a rescue and relief operation,†said RM Sharma, the district police chief. Ten persons are feared killed and another five seriously injured after the vehicle they were travelling in fell into the valley at about 4 p.m., he said.
Among the dead are believed to be two Nepali Gorkhas, their wives and two children, a police spokesman said. The other four dead are said to be native residents of the area. The vehicle was on its way to Summerkot from Rohru when it met with the accident.
Cause of the accident could not be ascertained immediately, a case has been registered and the matter was under investigation, police said.
