Chamba: One person was killed on the spot when his car number, HP-54-2475, went out of control and fell into a 50-metre deep gorge at Meridi Nallah near Nand village on the Chamba –Sahoo state highway, about 20 km from here, at around 4.30 PM today, Police SHO Kailash Walia disclosed.
The sources revealed that the deceased had been identified as Desraj s/o Sarwan, was working as lecturer in Senior Secondary School, Jadera, and was driving himself back from school to his residence at Bat.
The body of the deceased has been handed over to his kin, as per sources.
“The vehicle was on its way from Jadra to Bat,” Kailash Walia, told that he himself visited the spot. A case has been registered and inquiry is on, he added.
