Shimla: Passengers of a Himachal roadways bus had a miraculous escape on Monday morning, when a truck collided with it head on, injuring about 16 of them, who after being treated as outdoor patients at IGMC hospital were by evening, discharged, police said.
The bus (HP-07-4910) was on its way from Adarshnagar to Shimla, within the district when it collided with the truck (HP-63-0846) at about 10 a.m., close to Fagu about 20 kilometers from here, RM Sharma, district police chief disclosed.
Primarily the fault appeared to be negligent and rash driving of the bus driver, he said. A case had been registered and investigations initiated, he added.
In all there were about 40 passengers travelling at the time, of whom 16 sustained minor injuries. The injured were brought to IGMC hospital, Shimla for treatment and by evening they had been discharged, said Sharma.
