Shimla: With the Election Commission of India, today issuing notification for conducting bye-elections to Rohru and Jawali assembly constituencies, the process of filing nominations for the two seats has been thrown open.
However, no candidate filed nominations papers on the opening day.
Anil Khachi, state chief electoral officer said that the last date of filing nominations was 21st October, scrutiny would be done on 22nd October, and the last date for withdrawal would be 24th October. Polling would be held on 7th November, he said.
Counting is scheduled to be held on 10th November, and whole process of conducting the bye-election process would be completed by 16th November.
The Commission has fixed the timings of the poll from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. on the specified date, said Khachi.
