Shimla: On Diwali eve, Himachal Pradesh University announced release of revised UGC pay scales for teaching staff and equivalent cadres in the university and colleges.
Ranvir Verma, university spokesman said, Vice-chancellor SK Gupta has ordered release of revised UGC pay scales for the faculty.
A notification to the affect had been issued. Implementation of the new scales would entail and additional annual burden of Rs 9 crore, the spokesman said.
The new scale being considered as a festive bonanza is expected to benefit the about 256 strong teaching faculty in the university and 30 additional teachers in an associated college, directly under the university administration.
