Shimla: Thieves got away with booty of seven precious idols from a temple, without leaving behind any trace, in the interiors of Shimla district, last night.
The idol thieves struck at the Kimaa temple in Tacklech Deothi, near Rampur about 150 Km from here and stole 7 statues made of precious metal, police said.
The temple burglary was detected by the temple priest, when he opened the doors to offer his morning prayers to the deity. The statues were made of Ashatadhatu, an alloy of seven precious metals.
The police has registered a case but no arrests have been made so far.
Within a week this is the second temple theft reported in the state. Last week an idol of Lord Parshuram was reported stolen from a temple at Nahan in Sirmaur district.
