Shimla: An official spokesperson of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, revealed that they have introduced a new scheme for promoting quality education amongst students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) category by providing free financial support for pursuing studies beyond 12th class in the notified educational institutions.
There would be a ceiling of Rs. 2 lakh per annum per student for private sector institutions and Rs. 3.72 lakh per annum, per student for private sector flying clubs providing pilot training said the spokesman. He told that scholarship, once awarded will continue till the completion of the course subject to satisfactory performance and added that the total family income of the eligible candidates should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh per annum.
