Shimla: Asserting that there was no swine flu case in Himachal, health minister Rajiv Bindal today stated that Himachal was in a position to supply 85 percent of medicine stock needed to meet out preventive measures for tackling any situation from Swine Flu menace in the country.
The health minister let a high level two member team from central health ministry know that a stock of 2.5 crore capsules of OSELTAMIVIR medicine would be ready within a week’s time and would be dispatched to other states.
The minister let Dr RM Rau and Dr Ranajn the two member team from the health ministry know that tests carried out on all eight patients for Swine Flu have been reported as negative by the central laboratories.
After the high level meeting to take stock of the states preparedness to tackle the situation, held with state health officials the central team expressed satisfaction over the steps being taken to meet out any eventuality on account of the Swine Flu.
The health minister asked the central team to provide more Personal Protection Equipments and Testing Kits for Swine Flue to the State Government immediately.
He added that toll free telephone numbers would be available soon for the people to seek counselling and other related information regarding the disease.
Others who participated in the review meeting included Deepak Shanan, principal secretary health and Dr Sulakshna Puri, director health, a official spokesman said.
The team later also called upon chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.
