Shimla:With radio, especially FM radio, clawing back to occupy the prime position it held before the advent of television, Adlabs Films venture, Big FM readies to include Shimla on its expanding map.
The Shimla FM station, to be launched later in the week, would be Adlabs 46th station in the country, said a company spokesman.
Launch of BIG 92.7 FM in this city will mark the entry of first private station in the state, offering a new form of entertainment to people of Shimla and nearby cities, he added.
BIG 92.7 FM has successfully completed its three years of operation after achieving many milestone along its journey.
In the first phase, three years ago, BIG 92.7 FM set up stations in the cities of Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Mumbai. In the second phase, stations were launched in other major states of the country.
With each city having entertainment preferences of their own, the company has done an in-depth research on requirements of the people of Shimla and we are going to offer a tailor made package, company spokesman said.
RJs who would be hosting the shows on BIG FM also hail from Shimla and have an added advantage of carrying an inherent knowledge of this city.
