Shimla: Centre has approved ‘Satellite Settlement Pilot Project’ for Hamirpur, Mandi and Sirmaur for which modalities will be finalized soon, revealed Revenue Miister, Thakur Gulab Singh, while presiding over a review meeting of the Revenue Department.
The project will be helpful for survey work via satellite and a provision of Rs. 429 lacs has been made for the pilot project in Sirmaur district adding that Rs. 214 lacs have been released in the first phase. On experimental basis one tehsil will be chosen to begin the project, he said.
He also said that 100 vacant posts of Patwaris are being filled up with direct recruitment, whereas 149 on secondment basis from Consolidation of Holdings Department.
In addition a provision of Rs. 52 lacs has be made for residential facilities in patwar and kanungo circle across the State.
