Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Government led by Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal is unjust towards the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) workers, said Himachal Pradesh state committee of the Himachal Kisan Sabha.
HKS blamed Dhumal govt. for diluting the essential provisions of NREGA. Unlike other states of the country Himachal govt. has adopted 9 hours service per day by the NREGA workers in contrary to 8 hours scheduled time period. The lunch break has also been reduced by half an hour from 1 hour.
No other facilities like provision of crèche for the children of worker, women not being given separate nature of hard work other then menfolk, etc.
HKS president, Tikender Panwar, has demanded relaxed measurement of work during the days of severe hot weather and the rainy season. And also looks ahead to organize the NREGA workers throughout the state.
