Himachal Pradesh on first priority: Virbhadra Singh

virbhadra2.jpgShimla: Virbhadra Singh, Union Steel Minister and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, said here on Thrusday on his first visit to his home state since becoming union minister that liberal Central assistance to Himachal Pradesh was his first priority without starving the state of the Central funds and timeframe of Industrial Package for Himachal would also be extended.

He addressed various public felicitation functions at Kumarhatti, Solan, Kandaghat and Shimla.

Saying that he would not leave any stone unturned for the state government by Central aid, he alleged that the BJP state regime in Himachal Pradesh was
being ”vindictive” against Congress workers and party activists and called upon the state government to sink the petty political
interests.

He also assured that Nahan Foundry would be converted into Steel Processing plant and also said to reconsider the matter of shiffting Central Medical Research
Institute, Kasauli in district Solan.

Today, Singh gave a courtesy call to Prabha Rau, Governor at Raj Bhawan.
