Very good efforts by Jitendra Verma.
KARSOG – The sorrow valley do you know is also known as The Land of Nagas (Dr. Sudarshan Vashishth)

    Karsog is
    is the treatise of Devi-Devtas.
But it is, yet, unfortunately hidden from eyes of the whole people i.e. the world.

Badol Devi : Goddess Badol Devi temple stands at village Badol at a distance of 3 kms from Gehrwin on the Gehrwin – Dhanathar road in distt. Bilaspur H.P. India. There are various tales which are popular about this temple. The most accepted one is that of an old man named Bhura. It is said that Bhura had an childless cow who used to drop her milk on a particular place. Bhura was astonished to see this. He thought that some one has mesmerized her cow. He tried to stop the cow from going to that place. One day he got so angry that he axed his cow. To his surprise in place of blood milk was flowing from the wounds of cow. The cow ran away and when Bhura tried to follow her he could not see anything and when he returned back he was able to see everything. When people learned all this they dug the place where cow used to shed her milk. They found a pindi of goddess Durga. They installed it in the bushes near that place. Later two wives of King of Bilaspur built two temples there. Now the fight was on between the two install the pindi in their temple. One night it itself chose the younger wife’s temple and got automatically installed there. After that no one was able to uninstall it from that temple. Goddess Badol Devi is symbol of Mother Shakati (a popular name for mother Durga). The hill on which temple has been built has also been named after goddess Badol Devi.

its nice to see. we are lacking much behind, not only in tourism but in other aspects too. If there is any non political, youth oriented initiative for the overall development of Karsog, let me know, i would love to be the part of it…………

Thanks for putting some shrines of Karsog on internet, but still much is needed to be done like some other famous shrines like Maunag temple,Dhoomuni nag, Dev Devahadi temple and Dev Badeyogiji temple are left. But really thanks a lot as now i can make simply make a search by the name of particular temple of Karsog infect for the others too, which was not possible 3 to 5 years ago. Further it ll be good to revel about these shrines with the myths associated with them. I think we(Karsogians) should also put the trekking sites and the Dhophadhar range on internet also.

  10. our culture is very deep and sir u are doing great job to understand our culture which is very important to know by present generation. May God help u for this great work….
