Shimla: On Thrusday, Himachal Pradesh got its own new Electronic Channel. J.R. Katwal, Director, Information & Public Relations launched the Himachal Edition of De TV Channel.
The channel is thought to emerge as the powerful mode of communication in the modern times and could play a pivotal role in educating the masses about the developmental activities being carried by the State Government for the benefit of common man.
Speaking on the occasion Katwal said that the electronic channel needed to fill the gap for sharing social responsibilities by disseminating developmental news among the viewers.
He said that electronic media had emerged as a powerful mode of communication and it played a pivotal role in educating the people about the developmental activities being carried by the state agencies.
The director stressed the role that various channels were contributing towards the socio-economic and intellectual exchange of ideas. “More channels were marking dedicated time slots to the Himachal related news and other developmental activities taking place, he said.
Suresh Kaushik, director De TV in his welcome address spelled out the programs that the channel planned for the state.
