Shimla: Reiterating its commitment to complement government efforts in combating the HIV/AIDS pandemic, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region pitched in by completing a awareness campaign coupled with a advocacy cum training program for human resource and nodal person in industry at Kala Amb, Parwanoo, Baddi and Una.
Organised in collaboration with HP State AIDS control society,representatives from over 80 industries including industry giants as well as SMEs were sensitised. The interactive workshops was attended by professionals from various industries including Vardhman Textiles, Hindustan Unilever, Micro Turners, Forge India, Pidilite Industries, G M Enterprises, Mrs Bectors Food Specialties, International Cars & Motors, Swiss Garnier Laboratories and others.
Tracing the involvement of the CII in dealing with AIDS, CII representative Nitin Pandey said “CII took on the role of providing HIV/AIDS advisory services to its member companies as early as 1996, with the start of an “AIDS in the Workplace Programmme”.
