Shimla: In an official statement made by a spokesperson of Himachal Pradesh Health Department it is proved that Aman Satya Kachroo died after he succumbed to ragging injuries, which was revealed in an enquiry by Additional Magistrate, Kangra. He added that this report is being submitted to the State government to take further action.
It also elucidates the sequence of event that took place between 6 to 8 March, 2009. The report said that intense ragging in the early hours of 7 March 2009 lead to circumstances which the post mortem report has established that death is linked to the incident of ragging.
The report also highlighted ten instances since 2001 of ragging upon whom no heed was paid by the college. The lenient approach of the college authorities towards the raggers culminated unfortunate demise of Kachroo on 8th March, 2009.
Principal of the college, Dr. Suresh Sankhyan, is underlined as the key person responsible for this failure by the reports as he officiated the post frequently at different times since 2002 and has been regular Principal since 2008. However, the warden and the security guard, Joginder Singh, are also held guilty by the reports whereas hostel manager, Deepak Verma, and Chief Warden, Dr. Ramesh Bharati, are not held guilty of negligence.
Raised in Shimla and originally from Mandi district, Disha wears many caps which includes being part of a lead team of a fast growing IT company based out of Chandigarh. Earlier Disha was associated with My Himachal and visits Shimla regularly.
It’s really a depressing fact that ragging is still on his role instead of efforts made by the government in last few years. Kachru incidence revealed the facts that college authorities are not taking actions against the people who are involved in ragging cases. It’s a total negligence of college authorities which give rise to such incidences. They should take strict and firm actions against the culprits who involved in such disobediences which gives rise to loss of life. Above Incidence really lowered the image of Himachal Pradesh. I urge government to float strict rules against ragging so that such incidences can be stopped.

RAGGING is a source of menace that has to be stopped. The incident of AMAN KACHROO proved that the colleges where ragging is still practises were not remain the educational temples but the TORTURE CHAMBERS. so i think its a high time we put STOP to RAGGING and it should be banned completely.
THE SUPREME COURT HAS DONE WELL IN ITS STRICT DIRECTIONS ABOUT RAGGING. IT SHOULD BE BACKED BY SEVERE GOVERNMENT ACTION AS WELL.
