Shimla: After laying the foundation stone of Panchayati Raj Training Institute estimated to cost Rs. 4.38 crore at Baijnath, Kangra, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal said that for 2010 scheduled elctions women will avail 50 percent reservation opportunities in all PRIs and Himachal Government will provide Rs. 10 crore to Gram Panchayats generating income for their requirements.
He also announced 21 percent enhancement in the honorarium of PRIs representatives and said that while on official duty the PRI representatives would be entitled to get TA/DA as per government norms and also rest house facilities by earmarking Rs. 50 lakh for the purpose.
After completing eight years of regular service the panchayat sahayaks will be considered eligible for appointment as Panchayat Secretaries and JEs have the power to evaluate works upto Rs. 5 lakh in PRIs.
