Shimla: For making use of information technology to enable citizens to access citizen centric services, the state government foray into electronic gazette (e-Gazette) and the HIMPOL, state police web portal have been chosen for national awards on e-governance, a government spokesman stated.
He said that the project submitted by the printing and stationery and national informatics center has been awarded Bronze Award for 2008-09 under the category of ‘Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering’.
HIMPOL, the web portal of the police has been awarded under the category of ‘Outstanding Performance in Citizen Centric Service Delivery, he said.
The award has been given by the union governments administrative reforms and public grievances department and information technology department, New Delhi.
The awards are to be conferred by governor of Goa on 12th February, 2009 at the inaugural session of the 12th National Conference on e-Governance-2008-09.
