Dr. Rajeev Bindal, the Health and Ayurveda Minister presided over a departmental meeting which reviewed the progress of different activities being undertaken under National Rural Health Mission.
He said that an elaborate scheme has been formulated to create awareness among masses about various problems like foeticide, mother-child safety, anemia etc. The printed material is being prepared for distribution among all panchayats of the State related to the health awareness programme aimed at preventing various fatal diseases, besides generating awareness and educating people about hazards of unhygienic living conditions.
He revealed that 13.20 lac would be spent on creating awareness among youth through as many as 71 health blocks across the State about the hazards of sexually transmitted diseases like AIDS.
