Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, today, laid the foundation stone of double lane bridges over Churan Khudd and Manjhi Khudd to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.41 crore and Rs.1.45 crore respectively on the Dharamshala- Khanyara Road in Kangra.
He said that 435 km long state highways and major district roads would be upgraded besides periodic maintenance of 2000 kms. of road length under Rs 1365.435 crore, H.P. State Road Project, and world class roads would be constructed in the State under the project for which 90 % of loan assistance i.e. 220 million dollars (Rs 990 crores) would be provided by Government of India.
He also mentioned about other roads construction project and said that Haryana Government had agreed to construct Pinjore-Swarghat Road as four lane Road and Chandigarh-Baddi road also would be constructed by Punjab Government by June next year. He said that in near future Baddi industrial area would be connected by express highway to the upcoming International airport at Mohali and Union Government had sanctioned two National Highways, Nagrota Bagwan-Ranital Mubarakpur and Paonta Sahib-Shillai-Hatkoti for the State.
