Shimla: A drunken brawl cost the life of one Yash Pal (32) when three of fellow partying friends on a sudden provocation hit him fatally, late on Saturday night.
“Narinder, who is a senior assistant with the Public Works Department (PWD) has been arrested in the murder case and police is on the look out for two others, Vijay and Harpal,†said RM Sharma, the district police chief.
Investigations revealed that the four happened to be together at a drink party in one house at Tikkar local market, in the interior of Shimla district.
The head injury on the deceased, a resident of Gujandali village in under Tikkar panchayat, was because of an empty liquor bottle and the lid of a pressure cooked having been smashed on it. The injury is believed to have caused the fatal injury.
A murder case has been registered and after conducting an autopsy, the body was handed over to father Geeta Lal, police said.
