Shimla: Kaul Singh Thakur, state congress president on Monday said, “with former BJP leaders like Narinder Thakur and Karan Singh joining congress and others including BSP members having expressed their intentions of joining the party, BJP was in disarray.
“With BSP state convener Vijay Singh Mankotia having announced his retirement from politics, congress stands to gain as it was the spurt in BSP vote share from 1 to 7 % in the assembly elections that had cost the party dear,” said Kaul Singh.
Denying that Mankotia was being inducted into congress, he said that the veteran leader had termed it as retirement, but should he express willingness to join congress, the matter would be considered by the high command.
The congress has held the government responsible for disrupting the educational system in mid-term by removing PTA teachers from remote and distant schools without making provisions for filling up vacant posts.
“The education system in rural areas was paralyzed as the government was bent upon sacking PTA teachers without fulfilling the vacancies coming about.â€
On the occasion, he also announced dissolving the scheduled caste committee and appointed former minister Kuldeep Kumar as its new president who would constitute a new committee afresh.
