Himachal government would mull over a full fledged plan in association with the public representatives, NGOs, voluntary organizations in order to carry out fruit tree plantations within the acquired length of the major national and state highways all over the state with a view to increase the green cover and provide a boost to fruit cultivation in the state.
P.K.Dhumal, the Chief Minister in a meeting said that the state government besides protecting the planted trees would explore the possibilities of planting trees like peepal, mango and jamun depending upon the topographical suitability of the area in large numbers which further would be instrumental in supplementing the endeavor of the state government in making Himachal Pradesh, the ‘Fruit Bowl of India’. He said he would be writing to all the Members of the Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly, Zila Parishad, Panchayat Samiti, Gram Panchayat office bearers and members to actively cooperate with the state government in implementation of the plan successfully to make Himachal Pradesh, pollution free, plastic free and garbage free meanwhile emphasizing on the need for disposal of bio-degradable, non-biodegradable, solid waste and industrial waste in a scientific and environment friendly way so that entire state could be neat and clean, green and serene in all respects.
The state government had recommended the names of persons for appointment as chairmen and vice-chairmen in various Boards and Corporations, which were being honored by issuing necessary notifications of appointment to respective positions on receipt of the recommendations and clearance by the High Command.
