Dhumal asks authorities to bring uniformity to housing subsidy

Prem Kumar Dhumal, the Chief Minister stressed on the need to make uniform provisions for housing subsidy being provided to the weaker sections of the society under different schemes.

Presiding over the ‘e.Kutumb’ website launching ceremony of the Integrated Child Development Services of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department he said that limit of subsidy had been enhanced recently for construction of new houses and repair of old houses of the vulnerable section of the society. He said that besides Indira Awas Yojna, the state government had introduced ‘Atal Awas Yojna’ aimed at providing every eligible family its own house in a phased manner.

Dhumal said that the state government would explore the possibilities of delivering social security pensions to 2,37,282 pensioners through e-pension programme in assistance with the State Bank of India to help the pensioners get the amount at their door steps disbursed by the banking officials.

Chief Minister said that the state had excelled on the educational front tremendously while lot had yet to be done to bring about qualitative improvement in the same. He said that although schools had been opened all over the state at reasonable distances to help the children avail of educational facilities near to their home. The state had launched the ambitious ICDS programme all over the state through a vast network of 19,248 aanganwaris manned by Aanganwari Worker and Aanganwari Helper to provide nutritional food to the children before admission to the schools and prospective mothers. He said that the programme was under implementation in every nook and corner of the state with the help of local women following the guidelines issued to provide children and mother nutritional diet.

He congratulated the Social Justice and Empowerment Department for launching the e-Kutumb website providing detailed information about the Aanganwaris and its workers, beside other important information related to the social welfare and other allied activities which would be beneficial to the other departments in formulation of their policies and programmes. He also launched the website of the OBC Finance and Development Corporation.
