Shimla:The eight persons arrested for resorting to unprovoked firing at an industrial unit in Shoghi on Monday have been remanded to five day police custody even as chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the government would take tough actions in such cases.
District police chief RM Sharma said the police was suspecting use of other weapons besides the recovered 5 licensed weapons. “Medical reports of the bullet injured persons indicate that there are pellets embedded in their bodies, which points to the use of weapons other than the recovered revolvers and pistols, said Sharma.
We did take down a team of forensic experts to the spot and have done a careful examination of the area, he added.The eight persons arrested for the firing incident have been remanded to five day police custody, the district police chief said.
Talking about the incident chief minister Dhumal said that the police had taken swift action in the matter and had immediately arrested the people responsible for the firing. He said that it was the first incident in the state where an industrial dispute had turned ugly in such a manner. The government would take stringent action in such cases, he added.
Meanwhile, the company whose personal guards had shot dead one worker and injured several others on Monday has filed a counter complaint under section 147 about arson and rioting in which factory premises and vehicles were damaged.
