Prem Kumar Dhumal, the Chief Minister exhorted the officers of Information and Public Relations Department to adopt professional approach while disseminating policies and programmes of the State government in the larger interests of the people.
He further said that the department should ensure judicious and proper distribution of publicity literature so that it reaches the target group while more features of human interest and soft stories should be prepared and provided to the electronic and print media. The departmental publication Giriraj Weekly should carry more educative articles and features so as to make it more acceptable amongst the students while he asked for a more realistic approach to be adopted while implementing “Nasha Niwaran Abhiyan” so as to make it success in real terms.
Chief Minister appreciated the labor being put in by the department in discharging its duties responsibly and assured all help for strengthening the department with modern facilities. He said that the department had to work overtime to deliver the goods and keeping people informed about the social welfare and developmental programmes of the government. While appreciating the departmental website www.himachalpr.gov.in, Chief Minister said that the website was proving to be quite handy in getting information regarding policies and programmes of the government.
Earlier, Chief Minister dedicated the Electronic News Display Boards installed by the department at Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kullu and Shimla by clicking the button. With this as many as seven Electronic News Display Boards have been installed in different parts of the State displaying latest news pertaining to the State.
