Shimla: Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in response to a question by Suresh Bharadwaj (BJP) and Rajesh Dharmani (Cong) stated that though an amount of Rs 3900 crore was claimed by the previous government under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal (JNNUR) Mission for development of Shimla but the central government had earmarked only Rs 51.95 crore for the state capital.
The JNNUR Mission has so far only approved 4 projects worth Rs Rs 50.14 crores and only a sum of of Rs 5.68 crores had been received from the centre, said Dhumal. We are not only pursuing the projects submitted by the previous government but were actively following10 other projects submitted by the present government that are worth Rs 113.90 crore, he said.
