KUMARHATTI:Adopting tough measures against the encroachment in Baddi the administration today took a step forward with removing encroachments on Baddi -Sai road. In a drive that lasted for two hours, minimum 100 encroachment were done away with. All rehris and khokhas were removed during the drive besides the unauthorized extension of shops in road.
A team comprising of Mr. Manmohan Sharma, SDM Nalagarh, Mr. Sanjeev Lakhanpal, DSP Nalagarh, Mr. Baldev Sharma, Tehsildhar Nalagarh and senior officials from local Municipal Committee and Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority took part in the drive.
The shopkeepers were warned to follow the norms set up by the administration to check the encroachment.
Interestingly where Baddi Vardhman Beopar Mandal welcomed the drive, the Nagar Beopar Mandal , Baddi criticized the drive. Mr. Jaswant Rai, the President of Baddi Vardhman Beopar Mandal termed the drive a step towards public welfare. However Mr. Pravin Kaushal, President-Nagar Beopar Mandal, said that it never ever happened during Congress regime whereas the BJP seems to be throwing goods from shops just only completing three months in power. A protest was recorded from those associated with the Nagar Beopar Mandal.
