Shimla: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) has sought the state governments intervention to take up the issue of restricting exemptions of taxes from some category of industries.
A delegation led by Dhian Chand, chairman HP committee of PHDCCI met chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal late on Wednesday and apprised him of the new tax conditions which could jeopardize the industrial growth. The tax benefits need to be extended to all categories of industries, he said.
The chamber also sought simplification of the process for issuing essentiality certificate as well as rationalization of license fee for operating bars in the state. The chamber assured the chief minister that industry would not be found wanting in offering 70 percent employment to Himachalis in the industrial units functioning in the state.
