Shimla : Having stumbled upon evidence about forging of a school mark sheet document to secure admission into an reputed college in Delhi, the Himachal vigilance department lodged a criminal case against former minister Singhi Ram, today.
Reliable police sources revealed that the case was made out a charge about forgery of a mark sheet of HP School Education board, on the basis of which Singhi Ram’s daughter had secured admission to Lady Sri Ram College in Delhi.
Singhi Ram was the minister for horticulture and also held charge as minister for food and civil supplies in the Virbhadra Singh government. He represented Rampur constituency in Shimla district for six consecutive terms and has never lost an election.
However, following allegations of corruption, the congress party denied fielding him for a 7th term in the elections that concluded last December.
