Shimla: Rise in vehicles driven by women across the hill state has pushed the police to deploy reluctant policewomen on traffic duty. Its the latest male bastions to fall here.
For the time being the women traffic police would be trained in videographing traffic violations that take place, said a district police official. Slowly their induction would be increased to man all traffic control functions, he added.
“Policewomen come handy when confronting female drivers for traffic violations,” said the official.
