Shimla: A two-storey private building was gutted in a fire in the state capital today though no loss of life of reported in the incident, police said.
Cause of the fire could not been ascertained but two gas cylinder blasts worsened the blaze and led to complete burning of the building in the Kasumpati area near the government senior secondary school. However, no loss of life was reported.
The fire was noticed at about 5.45 p.m. and firemen battled the inferno for over an hour before it was put out. The fire loss was being estimated, a case had been registered and investigation had been initiated, police said.
